Week 1. Segment 2: Autodesk Inventor: Design of parts

This segment introduces the 3D modeling of parts in Autodesk Inventor.

Goals:

  • Learn the basics of Parts in Inventor
  • Create 2D sketches
  • Create solid bodes from sketches.

In-Class Practice:
  • We will select a simple part from the McMaster Catalog and create it in Inventor. Alternatively, you can work on a part of your Student Project, if you already have a design in mind.

Materials:
  • Please, watch the videos on the right
  • Use the built in tutorials in Inventor to learn more about these techniques.
